Dupuis is the latest project of acclaimed winemaker Wells Guthrie, the force behind the prodigious rise of Copain. Having sold up his stake and moved to the peaceful and isolated Anderson Valley, Wells has sought to strip his winemaking down to its bare bones, focusing on sourcing high-quality fruit which effortlessly expresses terroir and varietal expression.

It seems restrained and mineral-ish at first sniff, then opens up on the palate to offer captivating plum, raspberry and black-tea flavors wrapped in moderate fine-grained tannins.
