This cuvée is a blend of 70% Grenache noir, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre from organically farmed vines, planted across several parcels, in iron-rich clay and gravelly soils. The old-vine Grenache character comes through beautifully in this cuvée, with its intense aromas of ripe strawberry, cherry, sappy flowers, and Provençal herbs. A few years in bottle have brought extra forest floor complexity to the wine and polished its enveloping tannins. Medium to full bodied and elegant on the palate, with delicious savoury complexity. A step up in terms of complexity from the domaine's excellent straight Vacqueyras cuvée.

The hand-picked grapes are sorted and completely destemmed to avoid coarse tannins. After a cold pre-fermentation maceration (18°C), the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats for 4-5 weeks. After several months in concrete vats, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal SO2 additions.

On the nose, it's complex with an ever-changing bouquet of ripe red fruit, bramble, forest floor and spices.

On the palate, its time in bottle brought poise and elegance, with smooth tannins and a rounded mouthfeel, nicely balanced by refreshing acidity.

Drink now or see it develop further within the next 3-5 years.
