Based in the tiny village of Pernand Vergelesses, the Delarche family cellar is tucked away in the shadow of the famed hill of Corton. For more than three generations, the family has crafted authentic, earthy and expressive Burgundy in Pernand, much more under the radar than many producers in Burgundy making wine half as good. Domaine Delarche have fully embraced organic farming and make their wines as simply and naturally as possible.
On the palate, it is juicy and fleshy with plenty of energy. Flavours of bramble fruit and violet candy are prominent.
The reds of Delarche are spicy and refined, alluring from the moment of bottling yet endowed with fantastic aging potential.
This is a perfect example of how good Burgundy need not break the bank.
Drink now or age for up to 5 years at a minimum.
Try this wine alongside pork belly and celeriac, or pair with a wild mushroom risotto.
