Amélie and Charles Sparr are among the most exciting names in modern Alsace. Alsatian by birth, the couple comes from deep-rooted winemaking families. In 2017, they launched their own domaine, bringing together inherited terroirs, biodynamic conviction, and a distinctly modern vision. The result is a beautifully refined style of Alsace wine: dry, finely textured, and intensely expressive, with crystalline acidity and a strong mineral drive.
The 2024 Pinot Noir Carpe Diem results from all the lighter free-run juice across the red Pinot ferments, fermented together. The wine was matured in demi-muid and shimmers brightly. Tender forest berries bring their aromatic allure to the nose. A second whiff brings a whole nose full of iron oxide. The palate is absolutely bright and svelte, translucent and vivid, with tons of freshness and the gentlest crunch from fine, tender tannins. Bright and expressive on the nose, with notes of macerated strawberry, cinnamon, raspberry and rhubarb. On the palate, it's lithe, juicy, and wonderfully easy drinking. Just delicious.
