Behind Domaine Aléofane is Natacha Chave, scion of the renowned Chave family and sister of fellow winemaker Yann. Biodynamic farming and a respectful, hands-off approach in the cellar are central to Natacha’s philosophy, allowing the natural depth and energy of her old-vine fruit to shine.
Domaine Aléofane's Crozes-Hermitage Rouge is wonderfully vibrant and balanced. Bursting with dark fruit aromas, and subtle smoky and bay leaf notes, this is a lovely Syrah to enjoy now that will continue to develop and improve over the next 5-7 years.
90/100 - Always a solid effort from Natacha Chave (the sister of Yann Chave) and a wine I'd be happy to drink, the 2024 Crozes-Hermitage sports a deep ruby/purple hue and offers ripe blackberries, fig leaf, pepper, and bouquet garni notes on the nose. It's medium-bodied, has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, and ripe tannins. It's a solid success in 2024 and should drink nicely over the coming 5-7 years. Drink 2026-2033. - Jeb Dunnuck
