The wines of Moncets have long been some of our favourite produced in Bordeaux, pioneering a style of Claret focused on balancing freshness with the inherent power of Bordeaux varieties. This Bordeaux Blanc is their first foray into white wine, a stunning blend of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon inspired by the rare dry wines from the estate manager's home region of Sauternes. Sourced from a 35-year-old vineyard planted atop clay-limestone, this is an alluringly unique white marked by notes of white flowers and bright stone fruits.
On the palate, medium-bodied and refreshing thanks to a subtle touch of acidity provided by the Sauvignon. Flavours of peach and apricot dance across the palate, while the finish is long and mineral-tinged.
