Vernaccia di San Gimignano was Italy’s first DOC, awarded in 1966, and was promoted to DOCG status in 1993. It is an excellent choice for those seeking a dry, vibrant white to enjoy as an aperitivo or alongside lighter dishes. Expect a delicate nose of citrus, green apple and lightly herbal notes, followed by a refreshing, mineral-driven palate. Like its Sangiovese sibling, this cuvée offers exceptional value for money.
