Thomas Morey is no stranger to Chassagne-Montrachet, being the 10th-generation in a centuries long lineage of Côte de Beaune winemakers to call the commune home. This 1er Cru is soured from two sites - Les Brussonnes and Les Fairendes - whose decades-old vines and unique soil composition leave their distinct mark on this cuvée. Opulent, unctuous, and with a wonderfully rich complexity, this white has a touch more fruit and a bit less minerality than some of Thomas' other whites.
On the palate, peach and apple flavours exude a juicy coolness while lemon and stone fruit flavours reveal a serious richness and ripeness. The finish is long and harmonious with saline touches.
Capable of ageing for at least a decade, this wine will reach its fullest expression after 3-5 years in bottle.
Excellent as an apéritif, the weight of this wine would make it the perfect accompaniment to roasted chicken, pan-seared scallops, or butternut squash ravioli.
