Graham Tatomer is perhaps the United States' greatest producer of Riesling, having trained for years in Austria to master the variety. Vandenberg is a cuvée from one of Santa Barbara's greatest vineyards, Kick-on Ranch, celebrating the unique sugar concentration that occurs when cool winds and California sunshine combine. Characterised by a distinct fruitiness and honeyed note, this is a European-style Riesling that matches up to the greatest in the Old World.
93/100 - The 2021 Riesling Vandenberg is a gorgeous, dynamic wine full of character. Citrus peel, white flowers, green pear and lime are all very nicely delineated in a wine that marries tension with a bit of sweetness from the small amount of botrytised fruit in the blend.
