Petite Arvine is a lesser-known white variety typically grown in Valais, Switzerland, and Italy’s Valle d’Aosta, though its origins may lie in Savoie, where this exemplary cuvée was made. Sourced from the stony slopes of the Coteau de Torméry, this is Guillaume Quenard’s side project, crafted from a tiny 0.20-hectare biodynamically farmed parcel.
A beautifully pure, crystalline white, scented with flowers and citrus, and driven by a cool Alpine salinity. Vibrant acidity gives way to a richer, more textural palate of white nectarine and candied lemon.
On the palate, a complex and crystalline structure with flavours of candied lemon flourishing. Fantastic acidity paves the way to a long, lovely finish.
Best in its youth, drink now - 2028.
Wonderful as an apéritif, you might also consider pairing it with seafood or alpine cheese dishes like fondue.
