Gimonnet Gonet Champagne L'Accord NV

Founded in 1986 by husband-and-wife duo Anne Gonet and Philippe Gimonnet - each from established Champenois families - the estate has built a reputation for Champagnes of elegance, purity and precision. Today, siblings Charles and Anne-Sophie carry on the baton and farm 13.5 hectares across some of the best sites in the Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne, including 6 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oiry, Cramant and Chouilly, with vines averaging 40 years of age.

The cuvée L'Accord is blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and spends a little less time on the lees than the domaine’s Blanc de Blancs (their speciality), making it more open, expressive and ready to go. The Pinot brings a touch of roundness and fruit, while the Chardonnay keeps everything lifted and clean. The result is a Champagne that works just as well for a casual glass in the sun as it does with more discerning company.

Pure and chiselled on the nose, with defined notes of green apple, nectarine, ripe citrus and white blossom. The palate is marked by a very fine perlage, while just-ripe stone fruit is lifted by an underlying minerality that brings radiance, focus and precision. A superb aperitif Champagne, yet wonderfully versatile at the table.
