Founded in 1990, Domaine Verget is a Mâcon-based négociant business run by renowned Burgundy producer Jean-Marie Guffens. Vallons de Lamartine is their village-level white, a mxi of fruit from select parcels of young vines in the southern Mâconnais with a small percent of old vine juice blended in. Vinified in 85% stainless steel tanks and 15% conceret vats, it aged for four monts on lees to add weight, precision, and charm to this delightful white Burgundy. Textural and fine with incredible depth, this mineral-tinged and delicately spiced white shines with notes of green orchard, stone, and bright citrus fruit.
On the palate, layered and textured with tons of freshness and a chalky, savoury complexity. Flavours of fresh pear and lemon are equipped with plenty of intensity and drive, leading the way to a salty, lees-enriched finish.
