Bodega Amalaya is one of the highest-elevation wineries in the entire world, perched at an astounding 1828m in Argentina's Calchaquí Valley. Owned and operated by the Hess Family of Napa Valley fame, Amalaya produce a range of gorgeously perfumed white and red wines from their 80ha of estate vineyards. Their Malbec is a wonderfully affordable red that punches well above its wieght, brimming with flavours of ripe red fruit and spice, yet never feeling overrich.
On the palate, flavours of red fruit, spice and vanilla fill the mouth, while well-integrated tannins are balanced beautifully by an elegant freshness.
