Domaine Eden is the second label of Mount Eden, found just a stone's throw away from the estate atop a neighbouring mountaintop. Farmed sustainably, this vineyard is almost entirely north-facing, relatively unique for a vineyard in the Northern Hemisphere but ideal for protecting the gentle, mountaintop Pinot Noir fruit. A mosaic of different clonal selections, this wine was made to the same exacting standards as those of Mount Eden - indigenously fermented, aged in old French Burgundy barrels, and bottled without fining or filtering. Loaded with spicy aromas of red fruit, this is a wine with true potential for the future.

94/100 - The 2021 Pinot Noir is 90% from Domaine Eden, with the remainder both from Mount Eden and some from grower vineyards, all cool-climate sites. It’s made in a rich, softer style than the Mount Eden, with no new oak, instead aged in 2- to 5-year-old barrels used previously for Mount Eden. It tastes of wild mountain strawberry, raspberry and a hint of forest floor, melding together into a seamlessly balanced, medium-bodied expression of great winemaking from great sites. Drink now through 2031. - Jeb Dunnuck

92/100 - Vibrant aromas of raspberry sherbet, purple flowers, forest floor and lilacs introduce the 2021 Pinot Noir. The palate is slender, fresh and light to medium-bodied, showing lifted, fresh acidity and youthful, mellow tannins on the finish. As always, this is a fantastic value and offers an alluring introduction to Mount Eden's winemaking style.- Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate

On the nose, spicy aromas of cherry, plum, and cedar box are alluring.

On the palate, broad with delightfully concentrated notes of blue and red fruit alongside touches of spice and a long, sapid finish.

Enjoyable in its youth, best enjoyed after 4-5 years of cellaring.

Consider pairing alongside Coq au vin, grilled salmon with herb butter, or wild mushroom risotto.
