Maxime Magnon Corbières Rosé Métisse 2023

In the Hautes-Corbières, a mountainous region of the Languedoc found between Narbonne and Perpignan, Maxime Magnon found a treasure: ancient vineyard parcels in steep, rocky soils destined to be abandoned thanks to the creeping influence of co-ops. Since taking control of these gnarly, old vine parcels in the early-2000s, Maxime has helped rehabilitate the image of the Corbières, working with his century-old vines to craft perfumed, alluring wines from local varieties. In the cellar, his light touch stands in contrast to the region’s historically powerful style, producing wines that are lifted, nuanced, and precise. 

Métisse is a stunning rosé made from 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault and 20% Carignan. Slightly fuller and more structured than most rosés, it shows vibrant notes of red cherry, sweet spice, wild herbs and iodine. The palate is juicy and crunchy, balancing generous fruit with restraint, while refreshing salinity and subtle medicinal notes add lift and complexity.
