In the rugged and mountaineous region of Hautes-Corbières, Maxime Magnon found a treasure: ancient vineyard parcels in steep, rocky soils destined to be abandoned thanks to the creeping influence of co-ops. Since taking control of these gnarly, old vines in the early-2000s, Maxime has helped rehabilitate the image of the Corbières, crafting perfumed, alluring wines from local varieties.
Rozeta blends 35% Carignan, 30% Cinsault, and 35% Grenache from biodynamically farmed vineyards. It opens with macerated strawberry, spice, and wild garrigue notes, leading to a supple, elegant palate. Charming and giving in youth, yet capable of evolving over a decade, Rozeta beautifully bridges Magnon’s Burgundian sensibility with the sun-soaked, windswept character of the south.
The palate is vibrant and approachable, combining juicy fruit with impressive structure, depth, and minerality. Some whole-bunch, semi-carbonic maceration lends a succulent, gently spiced edge and lift. Moreish.
