Ktima Kissa Mavrioros Malagousia 2025

Dimitris Kissa represents the fourth generation of this family estate, based in the enchanting, mountainous region of Corinth in the Peloponnese. This is remarkable terroir, yet still largely underappreciated. At elevations of 750–900 metres, with cooling winds sweeping in from the Gulf of Corinth, the wines retain exceptional freshness and acidity, paired with relatively low alcohol and a vibrant, energetic character.

The name ‘Mavrioros’, meaning ‘Black Mountain’, refers to the peak overlooking the estate’s vineyards, whose cooling influence is vital in tempering the summer heat at these high elevations.

Intensely aromatic, it shows almost Viognier-like notes of white peach, orange blossom and lemon zest, layered with a subtle garrigue-like, stony edge. On the palate, it is fuller-bodied and fleshier than the Pentanemi, yet remains impressively fresh and agile. There is a lovely interplay between its ripe stone fruit flavours, and its bright acidity and appetising, saline finish.

Perfect as an aperitif or alongside seafood, fruit-led summer salads, light pasta dishes or Thai cuisine.
