This terrific value 1er Cru Chablis is made by father-son winemaking duo Camille and Laurent Schaller. Having joined the new wave of producers making exceptional quality Chablis from their family vineyards - rather than sell fruit to the local cooperative - they source this fruit from a 30-year-old vineyard planted atop limestone near the village of Beine.
Aged for 10 months in 20% new French oak and 80% stainless steel, this white shines with bright, pure fruit on the palate and an alluring mineral structure which leads to a saline finish. A firm staff favourite all year round.
On the palate, bright and pure apple fruit with a driving mineral structure and touches of flint and salinity.
Excellent now, this wine is capable of ageing for up to a decade.
Great as an apéritif, consider pairing alongside quality smoked salmon served with lemon.
