In an appellation dominated by co-operatives and large producers, Marc Cabrol and his Domaine des Lauriers stands as a beacon of small batch, environmentally conscious winemaking. Founded by his grandfather in 1969, the Lauriers domaine covers 50ha of the Languedoc's famed Picpoul region, where their vines are planted amongst the classic red calcareous and marl soils of the region. One of just a few artisanal, family domaines operating the region, their dedication to sustainable viticulture and low-intervention winemaking yields a crisp white wine of unsurpassed freshness and balance. With expressive notes of crushed rocks, grapefruit, lemon pith, and white peach, this wine is perfect as an apéritif or with a range of cuisine.
On the palate, flavours of green apples, pears, and apricots dance around the palate, while notes of minerality, salinity, white almonds, and garrigue add a lovely structural component. Soft and elegantly acidic, a lovely creamy complexity rounds out this stunning Picpoul.
