Dupuis is the latest project of acclaimed winemaker Wells Guthrie, the force behind the prodigious rise of Copain. Having sold up his stake and moved to the peaceful and isolated Anderson Valley, Wells has sought to strip his winemaking down to its bare bones, focusing on sourcing high-quality fruit which effortlessly expresses terroir and varietal expression.
A must-try for Pinot Noir enthusiasts and a captivating expression of Anderson Valley's terroir. This wine beautifully balances ripe dark red fruit and earthy nuances, with vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins. Savoury and structured, while retaining purity and elegance. A tribute to Edward Ronan “Ned” Benedict, an ardent Burgundy lover, and a blend of the several vineyards Wells Guthrie works with - Abel, Wendling, Romani, and Klindt - showcasing the region's intricate variety of soils.
The wine was fermented with native yeasts and proportion of whole clusters, and aged in neutral French oak to preserve purity of fruit.
