Amélie and Charles Sparr are among the most exciting names in modern Alsace. Alsatian by birth, the couple comes from deep-rooted winemaking families. In 2017, they launched their own domaine, bringing together inherited terroirs, biodynamic conviction, and a distinctly modern vision. The result is a beautifully refined style of Alsace wine: dry, finely textured, and intensely expressive, with crystalline acidity and a strong mineral drive.

96/100 - At once bold and cool, this has so much power and tension. Aromas of mint and candied lemon peel. Very compact and structured, with a lot of salty intensity in the very long, straight finish. Matured for six months in a 50-50 mix of stainless steel and large neutral oak cask. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. - James Suckling

95/100 - The 2023 Riesling Schoenenbourg Grand Cru Révélation, picked across eight parcels from this site, is golden in hue. This was made half in foudre, half in stainless steel and was blended before bottling. Tender, scented touches of dried lemon balm and citronella are still bound up with a touch of flint, resulting in a beautifully lifted, fresh and appetizing nose. The palate also reflects this aromatic brightness, emanating a cool, gentle smoothness. There is a skip in its step, a certain ease and yet so much lovely depth. (Bone-dry) - Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous

The 2023 Riesling Schoenenbourg Grand Cru Révélation was picked from eight higher-elevation parcels within this celebrated Grand Cru. Fermented spontaneously, it spent several months on fine lees in a 50/50 mix of stainless steel and foudres, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal SO2.

Wonderfully intense and chiselled, the nose offers pure, crystalline citrus fruit, nectarine, white blossom and wet stone. The palate is structured and energetic, its racy acidity carrying the fruit through to a very long finish. A subtle, appetising mineral bitterness lends precision and refreshment. Impressive now, yet poised to age gracefully for at least another 15 years.
