Founded in 1999 by the Duncan family of Silver Oak, Twomey began as a new family venture to expand beyond Cabernet Sauvignon and vinify other grape varieties from only the most compelling vineyards. The fruit for their Sauvignon Blanc comes from four estate-owned vineyards in the Napa Valley and Russian River Valley. In the cellar, each Sauvignon Blanc vineyard lot is kept separate and fermented in a variety of vessels - from stainless steel barrels to concrete eggs and neutral oak - to add depth and richness to the wine.
The result is a complex and nuanced expression of Sauvignon Blanc, combining ripe citrus and exotic notes, with a refreshingly dry and mineral-driven character on the palate. Great as an aperitif as well as food companion.
