Rarely seen second wine of top Pomerol estate Vieux Château Certan, La Gravette takes its name from a parcel of vines purchased by the Thienpont family almost 80 years ago. Made with fruit from the estate's younger vines, this offer lots of gorgeous plummy Merlot fruit, alongside spicy and floral notes. A more forward style compared to the estate's grand vin, it already offers plenty of pleasure with its smooth mouthfeel and joyful character. A lovely introduction to the Château's style and the wines of Pomerol.
92/100 - The 2017 La Gravette de Certan, made from the estate's young vines (under 25 years of age) is soft, open-knit and inviting. In this vintage, the Gravette is especially floral and perfumed, which gives it tons of immediacy and sheer appeal.
