Helmut Lang is an absolute master of sweet winemaking. It's quite baffling to think that apparently filthy, blackened grapes, still on the vine come December and January can transform into pure, clean, perfumed and unctuous dessert wines. It's testament to Helmut's skill and expertise that year after year he continues to release such great wines. This is a half bottle format.
This Beerenauslese ("selected berry harvest") Chardonnay has a ripe composition of pear, apple and honeydew and a light buttery taste with a long velvety finish.
The vineyards are located on the Eastern side of the lake around Illmitz.
Vines are immaculately trained and all located in the National Parkland which surrounds the lake.
Suitable for excellent ageing.
Pair with artisan cheeses.
