Dupuis is the latest project of acclaimed winemaker Wells Guthrie, the force behind the prodigious rise of Copain. Having sold up his stake and moved to the peaceful and isolated Anderson Valley, Wells has sought to strip his winemaking down to its bare bones, focusing on sourcing high-quality fruit which effortlessly expresses terroir and varietal expression.
This single-vineyard Pinot Noir is sourced from Guthrie's own estate vineyard in Anderson Valley, revealing lifted floral and dried pine needle notes amidst red fruit aromas. On the palate, it unfolds expansively with bright acidity and velvety talc-like tannins, and a iron-like minerality. A beautifully balanced and elegant wine.
Biodynamically farmed, the wine was fermented with native yeasts and proportion of whole clusters, and aged in neutral French oak to preserve purity of fruit.
