Sondagskloof is an exciting, new, cool coastal area close to the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Brother-duo Brett and Wade Sander switched city-life to pursue the dream of owning a vineyard. Having acquired Cold Mountain Vineyards in 2016 the pair transformed the farm in to a organic and biodynamic operation with conservation at the forefront.
This Syrah is a delightful expression of cool-climate South African Syrah, with typical black pepper, dark fruit and meaty aromas on the nose. On the palate, the wine is textured, with resolved tannins and a long finish. The extra time in bottle has worked wonders here, adding extra layers of Autumnal, savoury notes. Pair with slow cooked meats or South African Boerewors. Great value.
