Antinori Cervaro della Sala 2024

Castello della Sala has belonged to the Antinori family since 1940, when Marquis Niccolò Antinori recognised the estate’s exceptional potential for fine white wines. The first vintage of Cervaro della Sala was produced in 1985 with the ambition to create a white wine that would evolve and improve with cellaring. Experimenting with Chardonnay, the defining feature became the addition of a little Grechetto to give local character. Cervaro was among the first great Italian whites to undergo malolactic fermentation and barrique ageing in the Burgundian fashion, and remains a reference point for fine Italian whites.

The 2024 is yet another compelling iteration of this iconic white, defined by a more subtle use of oak than in the past and a generous, complex aromatic profile. It is a luxurious, hedonistic wine, with exquisite exotic fruit, oak spice, and a creamy, rounded palate, yet remains balanced and elegant. Built to age but already expressive, the 2024 Cervaro della Sala offers both immediate appeal and serious complexity.
