Cabernet is Stark-Condé's signature varietal, and this particular wine has long been the bedrock of the winery. A blend of traditional Bordeaux varietals grown on the estate, this Cabernet displays a rich palate with a long finish and fine tannins typical of Stark-Condé wines.
92/100 - Made with 9% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon displays fresh layers of spicy dark fruit, oak essences and soft herbs with potpourri spices. Medium to full-bodied, dusty black raspberry flavors sway with notes of graphite and pencil lead before displaying a complex and ripe fruit condition that ends with a food-friendly finish. It's punching well above its weight class. Nicely done! On the nose, blackberry fruit aromas with tea-leaf and cedar notes.
On the palate, rich and polished with dark fruit and mocha flavours and a finely balanced acidity. Long finish with the fine tannins typical of a Jonkershoek Valley wine.
