Domaine Henri Bonneau is one of the truly legendary estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, having shot to superstardom under the guidance of 12th-generation winemaker Henri Bonneau until his death in 2016. Best known for the stunning Reserve des Célestins bottling, the domaine also make a superb 'villages-level' red wine from their estate vineyards. A perfect encapsulation of great CNDP, this predominantly-Grenache-based blend sings with aromatics of morello cherry, leather, and humus.
On the palate, mouth-coating flavours of cherry and cassis are enlivened by a juicy acidity which provides excellent clarity and lift. An indelible mineral character is present. Chewy and precise, the silky tannins lead the way to a long, intense finish.
