Perhaps the Piedmont's best kept secret, Giordano Lombardo thrills those lucky enough to try a bottle of their mineral-driven wines. The team at Lombardo is dedicated entirely to organic viticulture - a relatively rarity in Gavi, where conventionally farmed and bulked produced wines for supermarkets get the lion's share. A short maceration on the skins and eight months maturing on its lees add an alluring body and weight to this Gavi. Its fresh citrus and orchard flavours, mouth-watering acidity combined with a generous texture make this a beautifully versatile food companion. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
On the palate, incisive and structured with a long, lemony, and delicious finish. Viscous with a mouth-watering acidity. A pleasant hazelnut aftertaste rounds out this delicious wine.
Excellent as an apéritif, you might also consider pairing with seafood, soups, or grilled white meats.
Capable of ageing for at least a few years, enjoy before 2030.
