Regarded among the pioneers of the Grower Champagne movement, Francis Egly remains today one of its most authoritative voices. Joined by his daughter Clémence, they craft Champagnes of astonishing richness, power and remarkable capacity to age, predominantly from old-vine Pinot Noir grapes across the Grand Cru villages of Ambonnay, Verzenay and Bouzy.

This cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%) from the estate’s Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay. As all Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru cuvées, this is entirely vinified in barrel and undergo a first aging on lees for almost one year before bottling, allowing the wines to clarify slowly — just as things were done in the past. Bottled in 2021, this is a blend of 50% 2020 harvest, 30% 2019 harvest, 20% 2018 harvest. Disgorged in 2025. Dosage 1 g/l.

94/100 - A youthful straw color, aged for four years on the lees before disgorgement, the NV Champagne Grand Cru Brut is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay. It comes from the historical vineyards of the family in Bouzy and Verzenay, as well as those located in Ambonnay. I love this wine, with its notes of wet stones and black raspberries.
