Domaine Merlin's Saint-Joseph 'Les Grands Ducs' is Northern Rhône Syrah at its finest, defined by its bright aromatics, fresh dark berry flavours, and mineral structure. Named for the small owls which live amongst the vines in this parcel, this is a medium-bodied and precise iteration of Saint-Joseph perfect for enjoying now or up to a decade in the future. Gorgeously perfumed and crisp on the palate, this is top-tier Syrah at its most effortlessly delicious.
On the palate, crunchy flavours of juicy black fruit are accompanied by fine but well-textured tannins. A delightful mineral tension provides backbone, while the finish is marked by a subtle touch of salinity. Lively and structured but without heaviness.
