A new name for a longtime Roberson favourite, Chemin des Marquis is vigneron Laurent Merlin's spin on his father's Brocéliande Syrah. A fantastic value Rhône red, Chemin des Marquis is sourced from old Syrah vines on the left bank of the Rhône, opposite the famous slopes of Côte-Rôtie. Harvested entirely by hand ad aged for 16 months in old Saint-Joseph demi-muids, this is a pure and floral Syrah that way over-delivers for its price point. Full to the brim with flavours of red berries and that always alluring Rhône spice, this is a wonderful red ideal for weeknight enjoyment.
On the palate, it is supple, fresh, and fruit-forward, bursting with flavours of red fruits. Fresh and light yet retaining enough tannic structure to make it an excellent pairing companion, the harmonious, elegant finish lasts for ages.
