Alongside supplying grapes to some of the most prestigious wineries in California, including Kistler, Aubert and Kongsgaard, Hudson produces an exceptional range of wines. While Chardonnay is their undisputed speciality, their reds are world class, too.

Old Master is a barrel-selection of predominantly Cabernet Franc, sourced across select plots on the Hudson Ranch. When Hudson began more than forty years ago, the southern reaches of Napa Valley were considered too cool for Bordeaux varieties. Undeterred, Lee Hudson pioneered the planting of Cabernet Franc, a decision that proved prescient. Full bodied, plush and densely textured, with concentrated dark fruit and menthol lift. Possibly the best California Cabernet Franc-led red we've tried.

94/100 - The 2022 Old Master Cabernet Franc is made from 81% Cabernet Franc, 16% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, notes of wild blueberries and red currant jelly, followed by hints of menthol, pencil shavings, and tapenade. The full-bodied palate is dense and rich with a lively line and firm, grainy texture, finishing long with a minty lift. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Palate

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0663/5352/9069/files/BC_Upload_629d6370-80a1-4869-b48b-be293c78b828.png?v=1793195289
