Pelaverga is not a wine familiar to most casual consumers. An exceptionally rare, ancient variety found most prominently in the Piedmont, the Burlottos have cultivated this grape since 1800. Revered for its aromatic complexity, Pelaverga thrives in the foothills of the Maritime Alps, where cool winds rolling off the mountains meet sun-drenched days, fostering a perfect balance of ripeness and freshness. Pale ruby in color, this red delights with its lively aromatics of raspberries, violets, and rosehip, accented by Mediterranean herbs and a spicy pink peppercorn kick.
On the palate, its vivid freshness and delicate acidity bring balance to the layers of wild red fruit flavours, finishing with a touch of Alpine herbs.
