You may not have heard of Limniona before but it's definitely worth getting on your radar. Saved from the brink of extinction by winemaker Christos Zafeirakis, it produces gently textured, medium bodied wines with pretty red fruit character along with some herbal, savoury tones. Made from Organically farmed vineyards located in the foothills of Mt Olympus and vinified with indigenous yeasts.
Pretty & pure perfumed aromas of rose and geranium.
Juicy and ripe flavours of fresh cherry and strawberry are supported good oak integration.
Limniona almost went extinct until Christos resurrected a plot in 2005.
This is Greece's answer to Pinot Noir.
Vineyards are farmed organically and are undergoing biodynamic certification.
Pair with any antipasti or a steak-frites.
