Ebner-Ebenauer are one of Austria's most acclaimed producers, best-known for their exceptional white and red wines crafted around their home village of Poysdorf. Having delved into sparkling wine in the past decade, they've quickly become regarded as Austria's finest producer of Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs. This is their zero-dosage sparkling white, a wonderfully balanced and delightfully concentrated wine that matches up to the greatest Champagnes. Having aged on its lees for 6 years prior to disgorgement, its slightly yeasty nose and alluring yellow fruit flavours make it effortlessly enjoyable as an apéro, or alongside light fare. 

95/100 - The 2016 Blanc de Blancs Zero Dosage is from the Alte Geringen site on limestone, from 45-year-old Chardonnay vines and was aged for six years on lees. The wine is golden and opens with a note of salted Golden Delicious apple flesh and a subtle smoky reduction. That same salted apple character plays out on the palate, tapering towards a long, lemony, bright streak that lends tension to this vinous, clearly taut wine. Absolutely bright, vivid and long with saltiness. Astonishingly fine foam is composed of minuscule bubbles that make the saltiness creamier and end in gorgeous umami length.
